The following explains the process of transferring from an international to a domestic flight at Bogotá Airport.
After landing, you will be in the international section of Terminal 1. Upon exiting the plane, you will first go to the passport and immigration control (Check-Mig). There, your passport will be checked, and you may be asked a few simple questions (e.g., what is your first address in Colombia? How long will you stay? What is the purpose of your trip?). Since you filled out the Check-Mig form electronically before the flight, your details are already on record. However, you should be able to show the form or the confirmation that you received via email, either digitally or printed.
After the successful check (you will receive a stamp in your passport), head to the baggage claim area.
IMPORTANT: If you booked your domestic flight directly with your international flight (e.g., through a travel agency or the airline), your luggage will be automatically forwarded to your final domestic destination. Therefore, you do not need to pick up your luggage in Bogotá. It's best to ask when you receive your boarding passes to confirm that your luggage will be forwarded.
If this is the case, after immigration, you can pass directly through customs to the exit, which is located on the ground floor of the terminal. Then, simply go one floor up to the security controls for domestic flights. Once you pass security, head to your departure gate. That's it.
A layover time of 90 minutes should generally be sufficient, but if possible, plan for extra time.
